Production Coordinator - Amrita Dance Creations

Temporary

Location: Montreal, QC.

Application deadline: April 10, 2024

Length of Contract: 6 weeks with possibility of extension to future projects.

Salary: $25/hr

 

Job Description

The Production Coordinator will work in direct collaboration with the company’s Artistic Director in carrying out multiple production and marketing related tasks, pertaining to the completion of the present production Shakti Rising. 

The successful candidate will be working primarily on one of the Amrita Dance Creation's exciting collaborative projects, providing diverse support systems and resources to dance artists and to the production.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • · Liaising with Artistic Direction, Producer, and Media Relations.

  • · Coordination duties - managing physical resources, scheduling and attending meetings, drafting meeting notes, tracking budgets, preparing contracts, helping direct and manage staff.

  • · Providing information and resources to all concerned parties regarding project progress and scheduling;

  • · Keeping documentation up to date and generating a comprehensive archive for the company’s future reference;

  • · Create and distribute various documents, Including rehearsal notes, artist logistics, meeting notes, schedules and all production related duties.

  • · Human resources - assisting in engagement of support teams. Support teams include: Media relations,  production staff and technical crew;

  • · Assisting in processing invoices, as well as other office duties;

  • · Support to the best the Production coordinator's abilities all of Company's projects to ensure their smooth and successful execution.

 

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • · Minimum one-year experience in Production Coordination or Management, or equivalent educational training or professional experience;

  • - Bilingual (Oral and written)

  • · Education or professional experience In theatre, dance and/or circus production considered an asset;

  • · Production and project tracking experience using spreadsheets, databases;

  • · Strong proficiency with Google Drive and associated tools (Docs, Sheets, etc.);

  • · Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, and Excel;

  • · Positive attitude; demonstrating the ability to be resourceful and flexible.

  • · Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and change course of action quickly;

  • · Exceptional attention to detail;

  • · Strong people skills, including the ability to work as part of a team;

  • · Excellent multi-tasking, organisation and follow-through skills in a fast-paced environment;

  • · Strong communication skills, written and verbal In both French and English;

  • · Proactive and able to work effectively Independently, seeking guidance when needed;

  • · Experience working or participating in culturally diverse run activities will be considered an asset.

 

Additional Information

The position is available immediately and is ideally a temporary position. However, for the right candidate there is the possibility that the temporary position could be extended to the next production.
