Mudra Vigyan: Healing through Yoga Mudras
Mudra Vigyan is the science of healing through Mudras (symbolic therapeutic hand positions). Each finger represents Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether. Touching upon the hundreds of nerve endings which influence the whole body at a cellular and atomic(energetic) level; this practice affects the body, mind & spirit of one's being, aids in healing, and can be an important aspect of yoga asanas.
This segment goes into the in-depth wisdom of ancient Yoga Mudras, Ritualistic, Therapeutic/Healing & Sacred dance mudras, and their therapeutic & healing usages.
Chakras & Nadis
A comprehensive introduction to each of the seven chakras residing in the subtle body. This segment highlights the physical, biological, emotional, & energetic significance of each chakra. Participants will learn how to incorporate this ancient wisdom into some of their asanas & teaching practice.
5 Vayus / 5 Pranas
In Sanskrit “Vayu” means “wind”. The ancient Yogi/Yoginis considered Prana (one’s life force energy) to have five different vayus or “flowing winds”. Each Vayu has special energetic qualities and functions.
3 Gunas
In Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga, Gunas or strands of life, weave us together to achieve a higher objective in this universe we reside in. Knowledge of the Sattva, Rajas, & Tamas Gunas, are particularly important for yoga practitioners to understand how they are able to shift their focus inward for each asana.
5 Koshas
five "sheaths" or layers of human existence, originating from Vedantic philosophy, that cover the true Self (Atman) , ranging from the physical body (Annamaya Kosha to the innermost, subtle bliss body (Ananda Maya Kosha).

Healing through Yoga Mudras
Mudra Vigyan (The science of mudras) is an ancient healing technique that combines hand positions with pranayama (breathwork) in order to connect with the elements of Mother Nature (Earth, wind, water, fire, ether). Through activating thousands of nerve endings on our fingertips, pranayama, and healing mantras; we bring balance to our body, mind and soul.
Yoga Nidra - Yoga of Sleep
Yoga Nidra induces deep relaxation by moving the mind into a state between waking and sleeping. It systematically relaxes the body and nervous system, often reducing stress, improving sleep quality, and calming the mind. Yoga Nidra involves setting an intention (sankalpa), body scanning, and breath awareness, in order to move from a "fight-or-flight" state to a "rest-and-digest" state. This healing journey activates the parasympathetic nervous system and boosts vagal tone, aiding in stress resilience.

The movement of prana helps the vital life-force energy move through thousands of subtle energy channels (nadis) in the body; maintaining vitality, clear thought, and organ function.
This practice is also involves no touch therapeutic techniques in order to bring balance to the body and mind and soul.

About Amrita Choudhury
Amrita Choudhury is a certified yoga teacher, dance therapist, and practitioner trained in multiple energetic healing modalities. She also serves as faculty in yoga teacher training programs, where energetic anatomy, yoga philosophy, mudra healing, and energy healing form an integral part of the curriculum.
Amrita believes the body is its own pharmacy, and that the mind and heart possess a profound capacity to heal through compassion, awareness, and love. At the heart of her work is empowering individuals to reconnect with their innate healing intelligence by harmonizing their individual prana with universal prana/consciousness. Through this process, clients are guided toward increased vitality, inner balance, and sustained energetic flow.
Over the years, Amrita has worked with hospitals, senior care homes, cancer patients, heart patients, autistic individuals, and diverse communities through workshops, healing retreats, and specialized therapeutic sessions.
Her work is inspired by the teachings and traditions of The Patanjali Yoga Foundation, Acharya Keshav Deb, World Peace Yoga School, Legacy of Arts Institute, Himalayan Institute, Karma Choling Shambhala Buddhist Centre, Vipassana meditation centres, as well as Buddhist and Tantric healing retreats in Peru, India, and North America.
With more than three decades of research, training, and practice in energy medicine, and the healing arts, Amrita has guided many individuals on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and well-being.
